LAST CALL for Sacred Ground Dialogue on Race and Faith!
The beginning of the Sacred Ground program is just around the corner – Monday, September 14 – and in a few days we will be letting the diocese know our final number.  IF you want to participate, don’t delay.  Email Margaret McHale at [email protected].
"Sacred Ground is a film- and readings- based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith.  Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity.  It is a 10-part series in which participants are invited to peel away the layers that have contributed to the challenges and divides of the present day, while grounded in our call to faith, hope and love.”  Here are a few more details:
-The program will meet monthly via Zoom, starting September 14 and then on the first Monday of each month from 6:30-8:00 PM
-Participants are asked to commit to the entire ten sessions, ending in June
-There are two books that form the foundational material, and as well as film clips, films and articles to read in preparation for each meeting
-We will order the books for participants.  If you can’t cover the cost, don’t let that keep you away!  We have the Ensuring Our Future Fund for just that reason. Just check in with Connie.
-The program will be facilitated by members of the Race and Social Justice Committee of the Diocese
-St. George’s racial reconciliation team Repairing the Breach is sponsoring this program in conjunction with St. George’s Justice League
