8:00 Service Returns Next Sunday June 6
We are happy to announce that starting Sunday, June 6 we will once again offer service at 8:00 am.  Preregistration for the service is required. June dates will be available next week. Click HERE for the sign up link. The 8:00 service will not be livestreamed.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SATURDAY SANDWICH MAKING FOR WARM NIGHTS   
We are excited to share the news that St. George’s Sandwich Ministry has received a grant of $2,616  from the Brotherhood of St. Gregory, the community of Brother Ed Munro. Many thanks to this wonderful organization for providing assistance to St. George’s Justice League to continue the sandwich making ministry.  We want to keep this ministry going and provide sandwiches for the homeless guests of Warm Nights but we need your support!  Please volunteer to help make sandwiches on Saturday mornings from 9:30 – 10:30 and/or donate bottled water for the lunches.  Sign up here:  Sandwich Ministry



Diapers Needed
For the next two weeks, we will be collecting disposable diapers, size 1, for one of the families in the Gaywood Food Program who is expecting a baby soon. Diapers may be dropped off at church on Sunday mornings, or contact Donna Haselton at dlhaselton@msn.com to make other arrangements. Thank you for your generous support of the families at Gaywood!

Food Drive This Sunday May 16 from 1-2 pm
The monthly food drive is this Sunday May 16 from 1-2 pm in the church parking lot.  The food drive benefits The Bowie Food Pantry. This week they are in need of: rice/ pasta sides, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, canned meats, and canned fish. The Justice League is very thankful for your continued support. Please contact Peggy Alexander at peggyalexander28@gmail.com if needed.  

Peta Cappello - Kidney Transplant
Long time parishioner of St. George’s, Peta Cappello, is in need of a kidney . You can read about it HERE and share the information with others. Please keep Peta and her family in your prayers.

Clothing Needed
Gaywood Elementary School is in need of children’s tops and bottoms, size 5/6, to be kept on hand for Pre-K and Kindergarten students who have accidents while at school. If you have gently used clothing that your children or grandchildren have outgrown, please consider donating for Gaywood. Items can be dropped off at church on Sunday morning or contact Donna Haselton at dlhaselton@msn.com to make other arrangements. Thank you!

Need gift cards? And want to support St. George’s?
We will be putting in an order to replenish our supply of gift cards (scrip) early next week.  If there are any gift cards you’d like us to order for you, please let Ed Neuschler know.  Remember, in some cases, you can buy electronic gift cards online and reload physical gift cards you previously bought through church.  You can find the link at stgeorgesglenndale.org/donate. We still have a few gift cards on hand from Boston Market, Chili’s, Chipotle, Dunkin Donuts, Darden Restaurants (like Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse), Outback, Ruby Tuesday, Starbucks, and Subway.  Ask Ed for details regarding purchasing, reloading,  and/or delivery options for gift cards. Celebrating the Life of Jeffrey Williams
St. George's is grieving the loss of our friend, brother, long time parishioner and 8 o’clock service stalwart Jeffrey Williams who died on April 9.  Jeffrey’s funeral will be held this Saturday, May 8 at 10AM. Pre-register here  if attending the limited capacity in person service. The service is also available on Zoom.  Here is the link or call in by phone 301-715-8592 and when prompted enter the Meeting ID 972 5206 3491.  There will also be a separate, Zoom only event held on Thursday, May 13 from 7-8PM.
