An Invitation to Experience our Worship Service Together Sundays at 9:00 am
As we continue to discern the best ways to worship and connect with each other in this age of covid, Connie+ wanted to invite anyone who wishes to join other St. Georgians at 9:00 am on Sunday mornings to engage in worship together. The idea is to use Zoom, so that we can see each other’s faces (or hear each other’s voices) and together participate in the prerecorded St. George’s service. If you are interested, we will see you at 9:00 am this Sunday. You can find the meeting details on the calendar page of the website. CSummer Volunteer Opportunity to Support Warm Nights St. George's is looking for volunteers to make 135 lunches for those being served by the Warm Nights program, who are currently being housed in hotels due to COVID-19. We need 8 volunteers on Saturday mornings June 27, July 4, July 18 and July 25 to meet at St. George’s from 9:30 to 11AM and make the lunches. Social distancing practices are in place, masks are required and family/ households can share a work space. Two Justice League members will be working along with the volunteers. If you can’t volunteer but want to help, you can contribute by buying cases of water for the lunches. Because of the COVID limits on numbers, you must sign up ahead of time. Please sign up through the Sing Up Genius link that was sent out to the parish. lick here to edit. Summer Volunteer Opportunity to Support Warm Nights

On June 20, 2020, The Poor People’s Campaign will gather in spirit to call for changing the systemic inequality in our nation. Originally planned as a gathering in Washington DC and elsewhere, the Campaign has moved to a virtual platform. We had hoped to gather a group of St. Georgians to be physically present with those from throughout the country. Although we can’t do that, there are two streaming events you can join on June 20 to hear the speakers and join in prayer and support. Learn more, register to participate, and donate at www.June2020.org At that site you can find the Campaign’s statement of principles, info about the event and other resources. The Justice League will be providing additional information soon, but please consider registering for the event to add your support along with others. |
