Social Justice Biography of the Saints Sept 24
Endicott Peabody will be the subject of our next Social Justice Saints presentation Sunday, September 24 at 11:30 am.  The Rev. The New St. George's T-Shirts are in!
What says happy 150 years better than new church t-shirts?  The shirts are IN and ready to be picked up - see Roy Peterson on Sunday September 3 to get yours.  We ask that you pay for your shirts when you get them if you haven't already - whatever form of payment you choose just note 't-shirts' in the memo line. If you meant to get a shirt but didn't get your form in, we do have a few extras in several colors and sizes (but note that we don't have extra kid's shirts).  The cost is $15 for kid shirts and $22 for adult shirts.    Many thanks to Roy for all of his work on this endeavor.

September 3 Blessings of Backpacks, Students and Teachers
On Sunday September 3 at services, we will offer a "blessing of the backpacks," which is really a blessing of students and teachers along with whatever bags they may have with them!  Students of all ages as well as any teachers are invited to come forward at the Peace to be blessed and receive a special backpack tag.

Bowie Baysox Game
St. George’s has a block of 20 box seat tickets, at $13 per ticket, for the Baysox game against the Altoona Curve (Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates) on Saturday, August 19th at 6:35 pm.  There will be fireworks after the game that night. We can get more tickets at $13 apiece. If you’re interested in joining your fellow parishioners for some fun, fellowship and baseball, contact Roy Peterson by text 202-215-6878 or email at [email protected] (NOTE NEW EMAIL ADDRESS)

Warm Nights breakfast/ lunch supplies:
We need some parishioners who are able to purchase some of the supplies needed for the Warm Nights Breakfast and Lunches. We can use 2% shelf stable milk, apples and mandarins, breakfast bars, packets of oatmeal, and salty snacks such as chips. The sign up sheets will be in church on Sunday. Everything should be brought to the church August 6th, so the Justice League shoppers will know what is still needed. Thanks for all your donations.

Gaywood Uniform Drive
The uniform drive for Gaywood Elementary School continues from now until August 20 but keep in mind that inventories will become increasingly depleted as we get closer to the beginning of the school year. We are asking for donations of light blue, white or navy polo shirts (short or long sleeves) and navy blue bottoms (pants or shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers) in a wide variety of youth sizes, especially shirts in sizes small, medium and large, and pants in sizes 6-12. See the flyers in the narthex for additional details, including the uniform specifics, popular brands, and where to buy them. Donations should be dropped off at St George's by Sunday August 20 so we can deliver them to Gaywood before school starts on August 28. Contact Donna Haselton at [email protected] with any questions; see Ed Neuschler if you’d like a donation receipt. Thank you for supporting the students and families of Gaywood!

Warm Nights Sandwich Making Help Needed
St. George’s continues to make 100 lunches each month for the guests in Warm Nights. There are opportunities to help Saturday August 12th at 9:00 am. You can sign up here.   https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0A4AAEA62BA46-warm1
