Warm Nights Breakfast and Lunch
Another month is on the way, and now is the one to sign up for any of the supplies needed for the July Warm Nights Breakfast and Lunch program.
Each month we need shelf stable milk, breakfast bars, oatmeal in packets, salty snacks for lunches, and fruit.  Please note that everything on the list needs to be brought in by Sunday July 2nd.  The non perishables can be brought in today June 25th or July 2nd. The fruit should only be brought in on July 2nd.

Gardening Volunteers Needed
If you have a green thumb or otherwise have time and energy for garden tending, there are some gardens at St. George's that need your help.  We are looking for a few volunteers to do some weeding and mulching of gardens in front of the church and chapel.  If you can help please speak to Connie+ or wardens Roy Peterson or Zulma Santiago.

Come Sing in the Choir!
Do love singing in church? Are you curious how the choir prepares music for each Sunday? Have you considered singing with the choir? Now is a great opportunity to try us out! We are seeking singers for the summer. This is a low-level commitment to join us on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:00pm to learn the hymns with a little harmony thrown in. We are especially in need of all voice parts for July 30 and September 9 when we are doing special anthems. You can speak with any choir member or interim music director Keng Siong Sim for more information - talk to him on Sundays after church or email him at [email protected].

Adult Education Opportunity – Developing A Personal Rule of Life Workshop
The Adult Education committee is sponsoring a summer program for developing a personal rule of life for six weeks which begun Monday June 12. We will hold weekly meetings beginning at 7:00 pm on Zoom. Further dates for workshops will be June 19 and 26 as well as July 10, 17 and 24.
The program will draw upon materials developed by the Society of Saint John the Evangelist in conjunction with the Virginia Theological Seminary. Each day, participants will view a brief video and reflect on aspects of one’s spiritual life. Each week we will meet to explore topics for the previous and upcoming weeks. Themes include how we intend to live our spiritual lives in relationship to Creation, to God, with ourselves and with one another. The ultimate goal for the program is the development of a personal rule of life. You can explore the meaning of a rule of life as a way of thinking about one’s spiritual life by viewing the first video in the program with Brother David Vryhoff, SSJE: https://youtu.be/jNQ7f6CXLsM . The Conveners and mentors for our sessions will be Karen Horrocks, Jocelyn Tidwell, Terry Doyle and Connie+. You can reach out to any of them for questions. There is a sign-up sheet at church for indicating your plans to participate, or email to Terry at [email protected] . We recognize that some members may need to miss some of the weekly meetings due to summertime travel - don't let that stop you from signing up!

Lenten Outreach Report
Thanks to your generosity, St. George's was able to donate $3,415 each to Trevor Project, supporting LGBTQ+ youth and to Miriam's Kitchen, supporting meals and other services for those in need.  That makes this year's Lenten Offering the most generous ever for St. George's.  Many thanks to everyone who contributed.

Warm Nights Breakfast and Lunch
Another month is on the way, and now is the one to sign up for any of the supplies needed for the July Warm Nights Breakfast and Lunch program. The sign up lists are in the narthex.
Each month we need shelf stable milk, breakfast bars, oatmeal in packets, salty snacks for lunches, and fruit.  Please note that EVERYTHING on the list needs to be brought in by Sunday July 2nd.  The non perishables can be brought in on June 25th or July 2nd. The fruit should only be brought in on July 2nd. That way the shoppers can take inventory, and know what items still need to be purchased.
Thanks to your continued support, we should be able to continue this through the rest of 2023. Any questions, please contact Peggy Alexander  - [email protected].

Support the Youth Mission Trip
