It's St. George's Mardi Gras and Silent Auction Time!
When: Saturday, February 10 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm Theme: Jazz - come in costume and be creative! Think musical - the Jazz Age, jazz instruments, or favorite Jazz performers. Prizes will be awarded for best costume! Dinner: Catered by C&C Catering, our own Cynthia Griffith Entertainment: Paul Arnold Jr. is back by popular demand with his tin-pan drum To-Do: Buy Tickets NOW Adult tickets are $35.00 in advance or $40.00 at the door Ages 11-20 are $25.00 in advance or $30.00 at the door Ages 10 and under are free. Everybody attending needs a ticket to track our numbers. To know: If you would like to come and cost is an issue, scholarships are available; speak with Connie+. Please Donate to the St. George's Mardi Gras Silent Auction The biggest part of the Mardi Gras fundraiser is the Silent Auction - and to make it a success, we need donations. You can donate a themed basket, things you have made, gift certificates for services, small furniture, a talent that you are willing to share, etc. If you have any questions, please speak with Roy Peterson. Pancake Supper Tuesday, February 13 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is coming! On Tuesday, February 13 the St. George's Youth Group will host this event to support the 2024 Youth Mission Trip to Savannah, Georgia the last week of June. Pancakes, sausage and fruit will be available from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in Miller Hall. The suggested donation is $7 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets on sale now! Mardi Gras will be held on Saturday, February 10 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. The theme for this year’s party is…Jazz (as in the musical genre, the Jazz Age, jazz instruments, or favorite Jazz performers… let your creativity shine!) Sign-up sheets are up in the hallway at the church, if you can help with decorations, set up, clean up, etc. Meanwhile, buy your tickets now. Adult tickets are $35.00 in advance or $40.00 at the door; Ages 11-20 are $25.00 in advance or $30.00 at the door. Ages 10 and under are free. Screening of The Philadelphia Eleven this Sunday, January 21 We are pleased to announce that St. George's will host a screening of the documentary The Philadelphia Eleven - the first women ordained in the Episcopal Church. The screening will be this Sunday, January 21 at 4:00 pm at St. George's. The recommended donation is $5. This is where we do business of the church, including the "state of the parish" reports and electing new vestry members. Bowie Food Pantry
The collection for the Bowie Food Pantry will take place on Sunday, January 14. We are asked to donate tuna fish, soup, and personal care items such as soap and toothpaste. They are very grateful for our generous donations each month.
