Donate to St. George’s Lenten Outreach 2024
Now that our Lenten observance is ended and we are celebrating Easter, bring your donations for Project ID and Global Refuge. Project ID works with local partners to help people get the photo IDs and other vital documents they need. Global Refuge, the new name for Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, works on refugee resettlement. Donations will be divided equally. There are envelopes on the credenza or you can give online. We hope to contribute a generous amount this Easter. Gaywood Elementary School Sock Collection It has come to the attention of the Justice League that many Gaywood students lack enough socks. In response, St. George's is starting on ongoing sock collection for the students; they need kids sizes especially in solid white, navy blue, or black. There will be a dedicated bin for socks in the narthex. Many thanks! Warm Nights Week Success Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Justice League is deeply grateful for the parish-wide support of our Warm Nights Week. Members of the parish purchased food and beverages, and made 600 sandwiches over the course of the week in order to serve 100 guests in the Warm Nights program. In addition to 600 sandwiches, we provided 700 breakfasts during the week. On Saturday the guests were treated to a pizza lunch donated by a member’s employer. An important piece of this accomplishment is the number of people involved in its success. The young people made 400 sandwiches, and parishioners made the remaining 200 during coffee hour. So, thank you St. George’s for providing 1,400 meals during our Warm Nights week!! At 10 AM this morning we will start streaming the service. You can watch here, on our YouTube channel, or you're welcome to join other parishioners on Zoom via our calendar link.
