Wear Orange June 4
During National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange Weekend, June 3 and 4, wearing orange has become a way to commemorate victims of gun violence. It’s a visible reminder that majority of our citizens want to see effective action to address gun violence. Join the Justice League and fellow St. Georgians and Wear Orange to church on June 4. If you don’t have any orange in your wardrobe, we’ll have some options available at church for you to add to your outfit that day. We’ll also have information about advocacy groups, and actions you can take to help move our country toward reforms that can save lives.

Pride Sign Making Workshop June 4
Make Your Pride posters for marching with the Diocese in the DC Pride Parade or to post in your yard or window. Stop by in Miller Hall after the 10 am service on June 4 where you’ll find everything you need to make that special sign to share your Pride. Everyone can join in, share ideas, and spread glitter and rainbows-well, maybe not glitter! For more information, see Michael Mangiapane or Mary Frances Bruce.

Looking for Pride Donations
At the pride parades we like to give away St. George's branded rainbow bracelets and other fun items.  We do need donations to support this effort; if you are able to give, please make sure it is marked "Pride".  Many thanks for your generosity.

Looking for Tech Volunteers for Sunday 10:00 am Service
St. George's is blessed to be able to stream the 10:00 am service on Sundays; this allows those who are not physically present to participate in our worship life.  Volunteers who serve on the Tech Team make this possible, and we offer them our thanks.  We are always looking for more volunteers for this ministry, so if you are willing to join the ranks, please speak to Michael Mangiapane.  Training and support are offered as well as the gratitude of the parish.

Social Justice Biographies of the Saints Series - Lucy Randolph Mason

Confirmation is Saturday May 20
On Saturday the 20th of May at a 10:00 am service at Washington National Cathedral, twelve members of St. George's will renew their faith in the service of confirmation and reaffirmation.  Everyone is invited to come to the service at the Cathedral to celebrate this joyous occasion with members of the confirmation class!

Looking for Volunteers to join the Lay Eucharistic Ministers
If you are thinking, "What is a Lay Eucharistic Minister?" - fair question!  LEMs, as they are affectionally called at St. George's, are the parishioners who lead the prayers of the people at the Sunday service and "serve" the wine at Communion. We are looking to add to the ranks of LEMs and invite you to consider joining this ministry.  You don't have to have special qualifications, just a desire to serve, an appreciation for Holy Communion, and a willingness to take part in the liturgy - literally 'the work of the people.'  Training will be offered.  So if you have done this in the past and would like to again, or if you have never served this way before but would like to, speak to Connie+.

Pride Parade
Join St. Georges on Saturday, June 3 at Noon for the Annapolis Pride Parade on West St. near Church Circle, same as last year. The theme is "Express Yourself! - Protecting LGBTQIA+ Youth". Wear bright colors and let's show our pride to the larger community before enjoying the festival after our 1/2-mile parade walk. If anyone would like to provide a vehicle for the parade, have ideas for decorating a vehicle to the theme, or have ideas for giveaway items, it would be appreciated. Donations to procure decorations and giveaway items are also welcomed, just note "Pride" when you make your donation to St. George's. Once we have further details on the time we are lining up and our location we will update this announcement. Let Michael Mangiapane ([email protected]) or Mary Rogers ([email protected]) know if you have ideas, plan to participate in the parade, or if you have any other questions. Other information about Annapolis Pride may be found at https://www.annapolispride.org Additionally the Diocese of Washington plans to march in the DC Pride parade Saturday, June 10th. If you're interested in participating, let us know so that we can get information to the Diocese about how many are planning to attend. There will be more information coming on where and when to meet up.
Purchasing Supplies for Warm Nights Breakfasts and Lunches
Once again, we can use nonperishable supplies for the breakfasts and lunches St. George's makes each month for the guests of Warm Nights. Specific items are needed. You can sign up on the lists in church, or by using the link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0A4AAEA62BA46-warm2. We need to receive the donations for May Today, Sunday, May 7.  If you have any questions, see Peggy Alexander or email [email protected].  Thank you.
