Bowie Food Pantry
Our monthly collection for the Bowie Food Pantry will take place Sunday, June 11. This month they are asking for toilet paper, low sugar cereal, instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, and suddenly pasta salad. The Food Pantry appreciates our help because more people, especially seniors, are applying for assistance.

The St. George’s Youth group is going on a Mission trip to West Virginia on June 25th. You can support them in several ways, including buying raffle tickets for a chance to win a dinner for 8 hosted by Bishop Mariann, and by buying tickets to the Post Trip dinner on July 30th at 5pm.  This is where they share their stories and experiences of their trip.  Dinner tickets are $15 and raffle tickets are $10. The tickets are available at the church for cash payments or you can pay electronically at www.stgeorgesglenndale.org/donate,
or

Thank you for supporting St. George’s youth.

Lenten Outreach Report
Thanks to your generosity, St. George's was able to donate $3,415 each to Trevor Project, supporting LGBTQ+ youth and to Miriam's Kitchen, supporting meals and other services for those in need.  That makes this year's Lenten Offering the most generous ever for St. George's.  Many thanks to everyone who contributed.

Adult Education Opportunity – Developing A Personal Rule of Life Workshop
The Adult Education committee will sponsor a summer program for developing a personal rule of life that is planned for six weeks beginning on Monday June 12. We will hold weekly meetings beginning at 7:00 pm on Zoom. Further dates for workshops will be June 19 and 26 as well as July 10, 17 and 24.
The program will draw upon materials developed by the Society of Saint John the Evangelist in conjunction with the Virginia Theological Seminary. Each day, participants will view a brief video and reflect on aspects of one’s spiritual life. Each week we will meet to explore topics for the previous and upcoming weeks. Themes include how we intend to live our spiritual lives in relationship to Creation, to God, with ourselves and with one another. The ultimate goal for the program is the development of a personal rule of life. You can explore the meaning of a rule of life as a way of thinking about one’s spiritual life by viewing the first video in the program with Brother David Vryhoff, SSJE: https://youtu.be/jNQ7f6CXLsM
The Conveners and mentors for our sessions will be Karen Horrocks, Jocelyn Tidwell, Terry Doyle and Connie+. You can reach out to any of them for questions. There is a sign-up sheet at church for indicating your plans to participate, or email to Terry at [email protected] . We recognize that some members may need to miss some of the weekly meetings due to summertime travel - don't let that stop you from signing up!
