Justice League Meeting Thursday, October 7

Want to get more involved with the activities of the Justice League? Zoom in to the regular monthly meeting this Thursday at 7:15 pm to join the conversation. No commitment-just a warm welcome! To get the meeting link, email Mary Frances Bruce ([email protected]). If you’re already on the JL mailing list, you’ll get the Zoom link as usual before the meeting.

Blessing of the Animals
Saturday, October 2 at 1:00 pm

Come to St. George’s Saturday afternoon for the animal blessing.  This year, we will hold this ceremony outside in front of the church at 1:00 pm.  Bring a lawn chair; we will also have some chairs on hand if you cannot.  All of our four-legged friends are welcome to be there in the flesh, or you may bring a photo or object as a stand-in if your critter doesn’t like to travel. We will also remember animals who are with us no longer yet hold a special place in our memories.

Warm Nights Homeless Shelter Lunch Making

Saturday, October 16 (9 am – 10:15 am) is the next monthly date to make lunches for program guests. This is a great opportunity to help out our community! In addition to sandwich makers, we can use donations of 16 oz. bottles of water. We will make 200 sandwiches, and each lunch includes water, fruit, and a snack. Contact Peggy Alexander ([email protected]) or Mary Frances Bruce ([email protected]) or sign up here:

All Saints Day Service of Remembrance

St. George’s will celebrate an All Saints Day Service of Remembrance on November 1 (time and mode details to follow) for those buried in the church cemetery and those who have died for whom you would like prayers. You can submit the names via email ([email protected]) with “All Saints Day prayer intentions” in the subject line or by completing the form found on the credenza. The deadline for submitting names is the end of the day Monday October 25.

Hospitality Volunteers Needed

Do you enjoy planning for when your friends get together? If hospitality is one of your gifts, your community needs you! Each Sunday following the 10 am service we gather outside in front of the church (weather permitting) for fellowship as companions on the journey. We are seeking volunteers to provide individual snacks, juices, and soft drinks, as well as set up and clean up. If you feel a call to help (even just once) please contact Ames Perry ([email protected]).
