Book Study begins September 13
Join our book study beginning September 13 as we focus on Paul’s Second Letter to Timothy.  We will use a book entitled The Heart of a Leader: Saint Paul as Mentor, Model and Encourager by Edward S. Little.  We will hold seven class sessions on Zoom on the second and fourth Mondays (not Tuesdays) at 7 pm. Please contact Terry Doyle [email protected] to receive a copy of the book.

Warm Nights Lunch Making is back 
On Saturday, September 18th we will make lunches again for guests of the Warm Nights Homeless Shelter program who are living in hotels, beginning at 9:00 am and finishing by 10:15 am. This is a great opportunity to help out our community. In addition to sandwich makers, we can use donations of 16 oz. bottles of water. We will make 200 sandwiches, and each lunch includes water, fruit, and a snack. Sandwich making happens once a month, so if September 18th doesn’t work for you please consider helping on October 16th. Bowie Food Pantry Update
Next Sunday, September 19, bring your donations with you to church or drop them off between 11:30 am and 12 noon.  There will no longer be a drop off time from 1 to 2 PM.  This month the greatest needs at the Bowie Food Pantry are:

• Canned veggies-  ONLY spinach, beets, and carrots
• Soups- ready to serve and condensed
• Canned fruit or applesauce
• Condiments- regular size- mustard, salad dressings, spices
• Granola bars

Disaster relief and assistance: Haiti Earthquake, Afghanistan, and Hurricane Ida
Episcopal Relief & Development is responding with direct assistance to vulnerable households in Haiti following the recent devastating earthquake, as well as working with the Diocese of Louisiana in response to Hurricane Ida. To assist with resettlement in our area of refugees from Afghanistan, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area offers multiple ways to assist.
