Daylight Saving Time
Don't forget to spring forward Saturday night and set your clocks ahead one hour!

Sunday March 12:  Virtual Q&A with Community Crisis Services, Inc
On Sunday March 12th at 11:30AM, following the 10AM service, we will have a special live virtual Q&A with a presenter from the Community Crisis Services, Inc, the organization that runs the Warm Nights homeless shelter program (for which St George's makes sandwiches once a month). CCSI, which began as a volunteer hotline service, not only provides services for those experiencing homelessness in Prince George’s County but many groups encountering crisis, including domestic violence victims, those experiencing mental health emergencies, teens, LGBTQ people, those suffering epidemic illnesses, and others in need. Please join us in the Sanctuary or on Zoom to give CCSI and Warm Nights your consideration, your questions, and find out how we can better support their life-saving work.

Social Justice Biographies of the Saints - Maria Skobtsova March 19 at 11:30
On Sunday March 19 the Rev. Charles Hoffacker will lead a learning conversation Maria Skobtsova, an Orthodox nun active in Paris during the German occupation. Her rented house was a place that welcomed refugees, the needy, and the lonely as well as a center for intellectual and theological discussion. The safe haven Mother Maria provided for Jews led to her own death in a concentration camp. Her annual feast day is July 21 in the Episcopal Church (July 20 in the Orthodox Church). The presentation will take place in the sanctuary at 11:30 and will also be available via Zoom.

SAVE THE DATE - March 19, 2023 -
Instructed Eucharist

Are you new to St. George's and have questions about our worship service?  Were you raised in a different faith tradition and have no idea what a "collect" is or why we say it?  Are you a "cradle Episcopalian" but Sunday School was a LONG TIME AGO? If our worship service sometimes has you scratching your head at hospitality, please join us next Sunday, March 19 for an "Instructed Eucharist".  Connie will be joined by two lay leaders to provide additional details about why we say certain prayers and read certain bible verses.  There will even be a Q&A section during the service to ask any questions. Bring a friend and get a high five from a member of the Vestry!

Come Make Prayer Beads as a Lenten Practice on March 26
On Sunday, March 26 at 11:30 am there will be a prayer bead making workshop in the parish hall. The church will provide the beads - all we need is you to put the sets of beads together! No experience is necessary and there are folks who will help walk you through it.  So come whether you are super crafty or just interested in participating. These sets will be available to those who would like them as a devotional practice and will also stock the church supply of prayer beads to give out. They are also a lovely devotional to use during Holy Week. If you would like to have a set of prayer beads, please let Connie+ know.
