Get Out The Vote – THIS WEEK, October 16, Is Our Final “Postcard Sunday”
“Last call” to those who want to support this year’s non-partisan educational effort to remind intermittent Pennsylvania voters just how crucial their ballots are to maintaining our democracy. Postcard messages only take a few minutes of your time, and we provide everything you need to get the job done – postcards, stamps, message content and voter addresses. Tables will be set up in the narthex before and after each service, and it’s a fun and easy way to make a difference. Hope to see you there, whether you’re an experienced writer or it’s your debut event! Questions? Please contact the office. All Saints Day Service of Remembrance St. George’s will celebrate an All Saints Day Service of Remembrance on November 1 at 7pm for those buried in the church cemetery and those who have died for whom you would like prayers. You can submit the names via email ([email protected]) with “All Saints Day prayer intentions” in the subject line. The deadline for submitting names is the end of the day Thursday October 27. Jacket & Warm Clothing Drive Now through the middle of November, we will be collecting warm clothing, primarily outerwear, in support of the International Students Admission & Enrollment Office (ISAEO) of the Prince George’s County School System. ISAEO registers and provides support services for international PGCPS students and their families. ISAEO reports that they've had a very busy registration season; registrations for families coming from outside the US are up approximately 30% over this time last year, and many of these newly arrived families do not have clothing appropriate for Maryland winters. You can help support these children and their families by donating new or gently used coats and jackets (pre-school sizes through adult medium), as well as hats, scarves, and gloves. Please be sure any used items are clean and in good condition (zippers work, no missing buttons, no rips or tears, etc.) Please contact the office if you have any questions. Thank you for your generosity! |
