Support the Youth Mission Trip!
The mission trip is coming up in less than six weeks and the youth group will be headed to Savannah, Georgia the last week of June. We appreciate the current and previous support from the parish. So far, our fundraising includes the Mardi Gras silent auction, parents’ night out, the pancake supper, the bake sale, and the June 2 car wash. Other ways to support the youth group are to attend the post mission trip dinner on July 28 at 5 pm in Miller Hall and to buy a raffle ticket to win dinner for eight with Bishop Mariann. The tickets for the dinner are $15 and the tickets for the raffle are $10. We will be selling them in the narthex from now until the post trip dinner, where we will announce the raffle winner. Car Wash Rescheduled for June 2
The weather foiled the plans for the Youth Group fundraising car wash this past Sunday, but it has been rescheduled! Sunday, June 2 starting at 11:30 the youth will lead the car wash right outside the church. Cost is $10. All proceeds go to the Youth Mission Trip to Savannah, Georgia June 22-29.

Bible Study on Ruth and Esther Starts May 20
There are 156 Sundays in the three year cycle of the church readings (the lectionary) - and a total of 3 readings from the Book of Ruth and the Book of Esther show up. Which means you may not know much about either of these books of the Hebrew scriptures. But you can change that by participating in a Monday evening bible study this spring. The books are quite short but raise themes of loving-kindness and suffering, identity and foreignness, empowerment and reversal. If this sounds interesting to you, join us on Mondays at 7 pm starting May 20. The first and last sessions of the study will be in person and the others will be via zoom, so come to the church May 20 at 7. International Potluck Celebrating Pentecost Next Sunday, May 19
It is a beloved St. George's tradition to have the occasional "international potluck", inviting parishioners to bring a dish that is connected to their heritage or country of origin, or something that you or your family simply enjoy and want to share. This festival of Pentecost, all are invited to Miller Hall after the 10:00 am service for food and fellowship as the Holy Spirit makes her home among us. Hope to see you there!
 
2024 Pride Events in June
Join St. George’s on Saturday, June 1 at 12 noon for the Annapolis Pride Parade. There is a new parade route for 2024: the approx.1.2 mile parade route follows Main Street from the Annapolis City Dock, down West Street to Amos Garrett Boulevard. Please join us, wearing your brightly colored St. George's Church t-shirts! There is a sign up sheet on the credenza. We are also looking for monetary donations to offset the cost of parade giveaways and 1 or 2 vehicles to drive in the parade. Bring your questions to Michael Mangiapane HERE or Mary Rogers HERE. St. George's is also invited to join the Episcopal Diocese of Washington (EDOW) group for the DC Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 8 at 3 pm.
