Gaywood Uniform Drive
As some of you know, each summer we've traditionally held a school supplies drive for Gaywood Elementary School, a public school located about two miles from St. George’s. However, this year we're doing something different!  Gaywood has a mandatory uniform policy for all students, but this unfortunately presents a financial challenge for some Gaywood families. In order to assist these families, we are holding a uniform drive from now until August 20. The Gaywood uniform is very simple: light blue, white or navy polo shirts (short or long sleeves) and navy blue bottoms (pants or shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers). Gaywood student range from pre-K through 5th grade, so a wide variety of sizes are needed. These items are available in store and/or online at many retailers including Target, The Children's Place, Amazon, Walmart, Kohls's, Macy's and JCPenney. Donations should be dropped off at St George's by Sunday August 20 so we can deliver them to Gaywood before school starts on August 28; you can also contact Donna Haselton at dlhaselton@msn.com to make other arrangements or if you have questions. Thank you for supporting the students and families of Gaywood!

Bowie Food Pantry
We will be accepting donations for the Bowie Food Pantry, Sunday, July 9th.  The items they are requesting this month are: Soups, stuffing, instant potatoes, rice, suddenly pasta salad, and tuna fish.  Thanks for continuing to support the Bowie Food Pantry.
Support the Youth Mission Trip
The St. George’s Youth are back from a Mission trip to Charleston, West Virginia and excited about their post trip dinner. You can still support them by buying raffle tickets for a chance to win a dinner for 8 hosted by Bishop Mariann, and by buying tickets to the Post Trip dinner on July 30th at 5pm.  This is where they share their stories and experiences of their trip.  Dinner tickets are $15 and raffle tickets are $10. The tickets are available at the church for cash payments or you can pay electronically at www.stgeorgesglenndale.org/donate, or Zelle to donations@stgeorgesglenndale.org.. or Cash App to $StGeorgesGlennDale. . Thank you for supporting St. George’s youth.

Come Sing in the Choir!
Do love singing in church? Are you curious how the choir prepares music for each Sunday? Have you considered singing with the choir? Now is a great opportunity to try us out! We are seeking singers for the summer. This is a low-level commitment to join us on Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:00pm to learn the hymns with a little harmony thrown in. We are especially in need of all voice parts for July 30 and September 9 when we are doing special anthems. You can speak with any choir member or interim music director Keng Siong Sim for more information - talk to him on Sundays after church or email him at kssim72@me.com.
