Bowie Food Pantry Collection October 13
In October, the Bowie Food Pantry is looking for a large variety of items. They would appreciate soups, canned fruits, peanut butter, jelly, canned veggies, and low sugar cereals or oatmeal. Thank you so much for the faithful way you support the Food Pantry. Please bring your food donations on Sunday, October 13.
 
Sign Up for the St. George's Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 27, 4 to 6 pm
Please sign up in the narthex to attend the Trunk or Treat event on October 27 and let us know how many people to expect. If you are planning to bring your vehicle and hand out treats, please sign up. Finally, there are other places to help out: bringing drinks/goodies and helping with games and activities. We would love to see you there for some not-so-scary fun! Any questions, please contact Mary Rogers.

Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
Bishop Marian has been in touch with the bishops from regions affected by the recent storms and reports that their diocesan offices and churches not damaged by the storm are setting up as relief centers and Episcopal Relief and Development is serving as a coordinator of support services and resource distribution. You can help by making a donation to the Hurricane Relief Fund at episcopalrelief.org. Meanwhile, Bishop Mariann has sent $5,000 from the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund on behalf of our diocese. Copies of the bishop’s letter are on the credenza.

Embrace Adult Education Opportunity
You are invited to participate in an adult education class that began on September 30 called Embrace. This six-week program explores the ways that we embrace our faith as Episcopalians. The next session is Monday; you are still welcome to join! If you have questions about Embrace, reach out to Connie+ or the Education Committee: Jocelyn Tidwell, Karen Horrocks, or Terry Doyle.
 
Interfaith Coalition of Bowie Trivia Night October 19
Come to the South Bowie Community Center for a fun-filled evening of friendly competition on Saturday, October 19 from 7 to 9 pm. Your team can test their knowledge on different faith traditions while enjoying free food with fellow trivia enthusiasts. Register HERE.
