**Please note there will not be a streamed service this weekend**

Call for Prayer Shawls

St. George's prayer shawl supply is low and in need of replenishing. If you are a knitter and have a prayer shawl near completion, please bring it in! We would like to do a blessing of new prayer shawls next Sunday, July 14.

Second Sunday Praying the Prayer Beads Next Sunday, July 14
After the 10 am service on second Sundays, join others to pray the prayer beads for common concerns out in the world or in our lives. See Helen Rowe with any questions.

Bowie Baysox Game August 24
St. George’s has a reserved block of 20 box seat tickets, at $13 per ticket, for the Baysox game against the Erie SeaWolves (AA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers) on Saturday, August 24 at 6:35 pm. There will be fireworks after the game that night. We can get more tickets at $13 apiece, last year we had 28 attendees! If you would like to join your fellow parishioners for some fun, fellowship and baseball, contact Roy Peterson HERE. There will also be a sign-up sheet in the narthex starting Sunday, July 14.

General Convention Notes
• Every three years elected representatives of each diocese throughout the Episcopal Church gather for the General Convention to do the business of the church. Of note is that Presiding Bishop Michael Curry is coming to the end of his nine-year term. The Rt. Rev. Sean Rowe, Bishop of Northwestern Pennsylvania and Western New York was elected by the House of Bishops to be the new Presiding Bishop. He will begin his new role on All Saints Day, November 1, 2024.
• Among many other things that happened at General Convention, St. Georgians may appreciate this: Deputy Matthew Taylor’s proposed resolution to add St. George to the Episcopal Calendar passed as part of a list of additional names for commemoration. St. George will be celebrated on May 6 each year. We will continue to celebrate St. George on April 23, as we always have, but now he is officially part of the Episcopal calendar of saints!
