"Blessing of the Backpacks" This Sunday
At services on August 25 any students or teachers who are beginning the new school year are invited to come forward for a special blessing and receive a backpack tag. Marietta House Museum Talk September 4 Helen Rowe will talk about the history of St. George’s and its connections to Marietta House. Please come to support her and hear more of our history on Wednesday, September 4, from noon to 1pm, at the Marietta House Museum at 5626 Bell Station Road, Glenn Dale, MD 20769. It is a free program and registration is recommended but not required. Feel free to bring a bag lunch. You can register HERE. For those who are not able to make it there will be a recording of the presentation made available at a later date. Parish Picnic September 15 St. George's Annual Picnic will take place Sunday, September 15 following the 10 am worship service! The location will be at Highbridge Park in Bowie (6800 Highbridge Rd, about 8 minutes by car from the church). The church will provide sandwiches and some games; please bring a side, dessert, or drinks to share, along with your favorite yard game! Carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking.
