Potato and Onion Sunday This Sunday
The next potato and onion collection for Saint Matthew’s is today! Please bring your potatoes and onions to church ONLY on October 5. In the past, when potatoes were brought the week before, they started going bad in the bags. Our donation provides food for 200 families so we need to ensure that no food is wasted due to spoilage. Additionally, we need people to load and deliver the potatoes and onions to St. Matthew’s on Wednesday, October 8. Drivers meet at St. George’s at 9 am to load and deliver the food. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex to volunteer. Thanks for your support and help! Become Adult Education Class Series You are invited to join the Become adult education class series on Mondays through November 3. This is a six-week program designed to explore the meaning of the five promises baptismal candidates make at baptism, the same promises that Episcopalians renew whenever we renew our baptismal covenant. Through Bible study, brief video teachings, and conversation, we will explore what it means to live as the Body of Christ in Christian community. Classes are on Zoom Mondays at 7 pm through November 3. If you have any questions about Become, please speak to Connie+, Terry Doyle, or Karen Horrocks from the Adult Education Committee. |
