Bowie Food Pantry Collection Sunday, July 19
We will collect donations for the Bowie Food Pantry on Sunday, July 19. This month there is a longer list of items they need. These are canned tuna, spam, peanut butter, condiments, macaroni and cheese, and Ramen noodles. Thank you for your generous support every month. St. George’s makes a difference in the number of people who can be helped by the Bowie Food Pantry.

Warm Nights Children’s Summer Camp
Summer Camp at Warm Nights is happening again this summer, and St. George’s will be providing lunches for the weeks of July 27 and August 3rd for 40 campers. You have the opportunity to make sandwiches after church on Sundays July 26 and August 2nd. We will also make sandwiches on Tuesday, July 28th, although we don’t know the time quite yet. On Tuesday, August 4th we will be meeting at 10AM. 

How can you help?
We can use:

• Cases of water ( a total of 360 will be needed over the 2 weeks)
• Snack bags of cookies 
• Snack bags of salty snacks
• Applesauce in the squeezable pouches only

If you prefer, a financial contribution is always welcome. Simply mark it for warm nights.

Gaywood Elementary School Uniform Drive
Gaywood has a mandatory uniform policy for all students, but unfortunately this presents a financial challenge for some Gaywood families. In order to assist these families, we are holding a uniform and underwear drive from now until August 10 and are asking for donations of the following items:
 
Pants (Boys and girls, all sizes)

• Navy blue only
• Basic “chino” style
  • NO flared pants, spandex, sweatpants, corduroy, jeans, or cargo pants

Shorts, jumpers, skirts, skorts (Small sizes only; the older girls prefer to wear long pants)

• Navy blue (solid)

Sweaters (Boys and girls, all sizes)

• Any color (solid)

 
Sizes:
Gaywood students range in age from pre-K through 5th grade, so a wide variety of sizes are needed, from Extra Small to Extra Large. They particularly need both boys’ and girls’ pants in larger sizes.
 
Where to buy:
Uniforms are available at many retailers, in store and/or online, including Target, The Children’s Place, Amazon, Old Navy, Kohl’s, JCPenney, Macy’s, Walmart, and Lands’ End. Some popular uniform brands are Cat & Jack (at Target), The Children’s Place (at The Children’s Place and on Amazon), and French Toast.

In addition, this year Gaywood is also asking for new men’s and women’s underwear:

• Men’s sizes small, medium & large
• Women’s sizes small & medium

 
Donations should be dropped off at St George's by Sunday August 10 so we can deliver them to Gaywood well before school starts on August 25; you can contact Donna Haselton to make other arrangements or if you have questions.
