Warm Nights Children’s Summer Camp
Summer Camp at Warm Nights is happening this week and next, and St. George’s will be providing lunches for 40 campers. You have the opportunity to make sandwiches after church this Sunday, July 26 and next Sunday, August 2nd. Also on Tuesday, August 4th we will be meeting at 10AM. How can you help? We can use: Cases of water (a total of 360 will be needed over the 2 weeks) Snack bags of cookies Snack bags of salty snacks Applesauce in the squeezable pouches only If you prefer, a financial contribution is always welcome. Simply mark it for Warm Nights Gaywood Elementary School Uniform Drive Gaywood has a mandatory uniform policy for all students, but unfortunately this presents a financial challenge for some Gaywood families. In order to assist these families, we are holding a uniform and underwear drive from now until August 10 and are asking for donations of the following items: Pants (Boys and girls, all sizes)
Sizes: Gaywood students range in age from pre-K through 5th grade, so a wide variety of sizes are needed, from Extra Small to Extra Large. They particularly need both boys’ and girls’ pants in larger sizes. Where to buy: Uniforms are available at many retailers, in store and/or online, including Target, The Children’s Place, Amazon, Old Navy, Kohl’s, JCPenney, Macy’s, Walmart, and Lands’ End. Some popular uniform brands are Cat & Jack (at Target), The Children’s Place (at The Children’s Place and on Amazon), and French Toast. You can see the entire Gaywood uniform policy HERE (Note, we are not asking for shirts or socks this year.) In addition, this year Gaywood is also asking for new men’s and women’s underwear:
Donations should be dropped off at St George's by Sunday August 10 so we can deliver them to Gaywood well before school starts on August 25; you can contact Donna Haselton to make other arrangements or if you have questions. Thank you for supporting the students and families of Gaywood! Potato and Onion Sunday is Sunday, August 9 Please note that in August the Potato and Onion collection for San Mateo is August 9. (Their distribution is the second Thursday of the month, and our collection happens the Sunday before). We are aiming for 900 pounds of potatoes and 500 pounds of onions, so please help with what you can. And please don't bring any potatoes or onions in early as they don't keep. See you at Potato and Onion Sunday on August 9! Save the Date: All Ages Game Night - Friday, August 21 at 7pm Looking for a relaxing and fun night out?
