Praying the Psalms
The focus for our adult spiritual formation program for this summer (June 1 to July 31) is Praying the Psalms. There are two ways of participating: on a daily basis with listings of psalms provided by Forward Movement and its Good Book Club; and/or by taking part in a series of workshops that will highlight various modalities for praying the psalms. Local Labyrinth Weekend!

• On Friday, July 11, drop by between 5:30-7:30 pm at the Bowie Senior Center (14900 Health Center Dr, Bowie, MD 20716). St. Georgians of all ages are invited to spend a few minutes praying with the Psalms while walking the outdoor labyrinth (or tracing hand-held versions). Instructions will be provided and no cost to attend. 
• and on Saturday July 12, 9:30 am at Brookside Gardens (1800 Glenallan Ave, Wheaton, MD 20902, no cost to enter). Those interested in carpooling may meet at St. George’s at 8:45am.  We will convene at the Japanese garden labyrinth for a short introduction and activity to prepare to pray a psalm using labyrinths. Then we’ll have time to walk the labyrinth or use a hand-held version while praying and enjoying the contemplative gardens.  

• Monday, July 21 at St. George’s for Praying the Psalms with Postures to Pray with Body, Heart and Soul. We will explore a range of types of gestures and postures.

​Call for Prayer Shawls for July 20
St. George's prayer shawl supply is low and in need of replenishing. If you are a knitter and have a prayer shawl near completion, please bring it in! We would like to do a blessing of new prayer shawls Sunday, July 20. 

Join the St. George's Youth Group for the Post-Mission Dinner July 20
The St. George's teens and adult chaperones have returned from the 2025 Youth Mission Trip to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Tickets are available for the report back dinner on July 20 at 5 pm for a slide show and brief presentation about the trip. Tickets are $15. Additionally raffle tickets are on sale for $15 to win dinner for eight with Bishop Mariann at her home. The raffle winner will be drawn at the post trip dinner. Thank you for all your support!
