Pledge Cards and Potatoes - Sunday November 9
November 9 is our Stewardship Ingathering, the day when we come to give our praise and thanks to God, celebrating God's abundance and St. George's generosity and commitment by returning our pledge cards. It is also our Potato and Onion Sunday, St. George's support of our neighbor parish San Mateo's feeding program where everyone is invited to bring in a bag (or more) of potatoes and/or onions. These two come together beautifully as generosity and abundance remind us of who we are as Jesus's followers, even in the midst of uncertainty and fear. Hope to see you there. Come Make Prayer Beads This Sunday On Sunday, November 2 at 11:30 am, there will be a prayer bead making workshop in the narthex. The church will provide the beads; we need volunteers willing to put the sets of beads together. No experience is necessary, directions and support available. These sets are for those who would like them as a devotional practice and will stock the rector's supply of prayer beads to give out to those who might benefit from them. Prayer Shawl Blessing This Sunday This Sunday morning we will bless prayer shawls made by members of our knitting ministry, which go to those who need them. Many thanks to all of St. George’s knitters! Be a Blessing: Youth Day of Service November 15, 2025 Middle and High School youth (grades 6-12) are invited to be kind, grow compassion, and express care at the 2nd annual diocesan-sponsored Youth Day of Service at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church on the Cathedral Close on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 2 to 5 pm. Youth will learn about and engage in service with diocesan partners. St. George’s hopes to bring a group! Speak to Connie+ and register HERE. Potato and Onion Sunday This Sunday
The next potato and onion collection for Saint Matthew’s is today! Please bring your potatoes and onions to church ONLY on October 5. In the past, when potatoes were brought the week before, they started going bad in the bags. Our donation provides food for 200 families so we need to ensure that no food is wasted due to spoilage. Additionally, we need people to load and deliver the potatoes and onions to St. Matthew’s on Wednesday, October 8. Drivers meet at St. George’s at 9 am to load and deliver the food. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex to volunteer. Thanks for your support and help!
