St. George’s Lenten Outreach 2026 - Supporting Amica Center for Immigrant Rights It is a long-standing tradition of St. George’s to encourage parishioners to participate in St. George’s Lenten Outreach Project supporting organizations chosen by St. George's Justice League. All are encouraged to set aside a dollar or fifty cents or whatever you can for each of the forty days of Lent as a spiritual practice. This year the Justice League has chosen the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights as recipient of our donation. Amica aims to help as many people as possible navigate the immigration system safely and effectively, standing with those trapped in our nation’s fundamentally flawed immigration system. There are envelopes on the credenza or you can give online. We hope to have a generous amount to contribute at Easter. Pray with St. George's Youth Group this Lent
Are you considering a Lenten prayer practice? The teens at St. George's recorded a service of Morning Prayer (Discernment) and Evening Prayer (Vespers) for the season of Lent from the resource Daily Prayer for All Seasons. The audio file for these prayer services and the links to follow along the liturgy can be found HERE. Tell Me Something Good Lenten Program Starts This Monday
Our Lenten program this year is from A Sanctified Art is called "Tell Me Something Good." Here is how the creators describe the program: “The good news should bring us back to our roots, back to what grounds us: loving our neighbor, caring for the vulnerable, pursuing justice and mercy, and resting in God’s unending grace. We hope this series will provide fertile ground for conversation and worship, rooting our hearts and lives in the expansive goodness of God. This Lent, may the good news ground us. And let that good news inspire us to take action in a world desperate to hear, see, and taste what is good.” Booklets with readings, art, and music are available to anyone who would like them along with a set of daily devotional cards.
